Experience The King Center’s New Nonviolence365® (NV365) Online Platform!

As CEO of The King Center, the month of January stands as a time of focused effort, gratitude and realization of the continuing global impact of my father, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The worldwide attention, countless tributes and many events associated with the observance of the King Holiday, provides a deep sense of inspiration to find innovative ways of ensuring that my father’s philosophy and methodology of nonviolent social change is disseminated and adopted by individuals, groups, policymakers, organizations and corporations around the world throughout the year – beyond the federal holiday dedicated in his name.
I am honored to share with you a milestone initiative developed to engage global citizens in nonviolent social change: the launch of The King Center Institute, a new digital learning platform reflecting a modern manifestation of the King Center’s mission when it was founded by mother, Coretta Scott King, in 1968. At its core, The King Center is an educational institution – teaching individuals and organizations how to apply the philosophy and strategies of Kingian nonviolence, reflecting my father’s vision which he expressed when he accepted the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize. In his Nobel Peace Prize lecture, he stated “I suggest that the philosophy and strategy of nonviolence become immediately a subject for study and serious experimentation in every field of human conflict, by no means excluding the relations between nations.”
Nonviolence365® Online is The King Center Institute’s inaugural digital course offering. It features insights into my father’s Nobel-prize winning philosophy and strategy of nonviolence as a love-centered lifestyle and vehicle that, when embraced, leads to personal, cultural and societal change. This dynamic learning experience includes world-class instructors and practitioners of nonviolence, veterans of the Civil Rights Movement, and some of Dr. King’s most essential readings, speeches, and teachings. With more than 15 hours of curated content developed by The King Center’s team of experts, Nonviolence365 Online is an engaging self-paced experience accessible to anyone around the world at any time.
Nonviolence365 Online represents the beginning of a new era for The King Center. I am so proud of the hard work and dedication of The King Center and EY, the global accounting and consulting firm who worked closely with our team over the last year to develop Nonviolence365 Online. I also extend our gratitude to the nonviolence practitioners and experts as well as the veterans of the movement for their contributions to the learning experience.
